In one of the most significant milestones in the SACCO’s 25-year history, Rwakyakibunya SACCO acquired and opened a six-storey commercial complex in Harukooto, Fort Portal City, named the RWAKY@25 Complex.

The complex houses a number of office and shop spaces alongside approximately 40 rest room units, representing a deliberate and calculated diversification of the SACCO’s investments beyond its core lending and savings activities. The Fort Portal City branch is now operating from within this complex, managed by Mrs. Mbabazi Babra.

This acquisition came alongside significant construction progress at the Rwimi branch, where the ground floor of the SACCO’s own building was completed and is now housing branch operations. The Kibiito main branch premises were also refaced and the front parking area was upgraded during the year.

General Manager Mr. Amanyire Nicholus and the management team oversaw these infrastructure projects while maintaining normal operations across all five branches throughout the year.

Speaking at the 25th AGM, Chairperson Mr. Arinaitwe Emmanuel described the Fort Portal complex as a landmark in the SACCO’s journey toward becoming a leading indigenous financial institution in Uganda. Plans are in place to continue construction at Rwimi by completing the first floor, and to develop kitchen and storage facilities at the Kibiito premises.

For members, these investments signal a SACCO that is not only growing in financial size but is also building the physical foundations for long-term service delivery and institutional stability.
