In December 2025, Rwakyakibunya SACCO rewarded its most loyal savers and shareholders with a special end-of-year celebration it called the Christmas Bonanza.
Participants in the drive walked away with cows, goats, and household prizes, in a campaign designed to recognise the members whose consistent saving and share investment have been the backbone of the SACCO’s growth. The event was warmly received across the branches and is expected to be repeated.
The bonanza reflected a broader culture of member appreciation that has become central to how Rwakyakibunya SACCO operates. During the same year, the SACCO also introduced a policy to reward its best loan repayers with the opportunity to take a new loan alongside an existing one, without having to fully clear the first loan before accessing additional credit.
The bereavement fund also continued to serve members through 2025. The SACCO collected UGX 124.75 million in contributions, disbursed UGX 73.52 million in support payments to bereaved families, and closed the year with a fund balance of UGX 100.45 million. Members can cover up to 10 family members for UGX 12,000 per person per year, with a payout of UGX 3 million upon the passing of a covered beneficiary.
Whether through prizes at the Christmas Bonanza, annual dividends, monthly interest on savings, or bereavement support when it matters most, Rwakyakibunya SACCO continues to demonstrate that belonging to this SACCO is about more than a financial transaction. It is about being part of a community that looks after its own.
